How do I use it?
Pick the language you speak and the one you are learning. Then hold the microphone and say your sentence the way it comes out, mixing both languages, or type it in your own spelling. Thinglish gives you the full sentence in the language you are learning, with script, pronunciation and tones, reads it aloud and answers you.
Why does it need the microphone?
Only to hear the sentence you say while you hold the button. The recording is turned into text and then discarded. You can also type instead and never grant the permission.
I hit the daily limit.
The free version has a daily allowance of tutor turns, because each turn costs us real money in AI processing. It resets every day.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up. Your conversations stay on your phone.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app: your conversations and settings go with it. Our server keeps only anonymous usage counts with no content, which nobody can link back to you once the app is gone. Details in the privacy policy.
The answer looks wrong.
The tutor is an AI and can make mistakes, especially with rare words or strong accents. When it is unsure it asks you. Tell us the sentence by email and we will look at it.
